Literacy Partners

We are a non-profit education program based in New York with programs expanding in cities across the country.  We focus on parents to help them build the literacy and language skills they need to succeed in today’s society while promoting their children’s learning at home.

Black Lives Matter

Since the emancipation of people who were enslaved, adult literacy has been central to Black liberation. We will continue to do the work until racism is eliminated from our economy and education system and every family has the opportunity to thrive.

Helping Young Parents Graduate

Our program helps moms who have dropped out of school to finish their high school education and transition into college. Weekly seminars help young adult parents promote their children’s early learning and healthy development so the whole family moves forward.

Spanish-Speaking Parents

Literacy Partners worked with Univision to create a telenovela-style miniseries for Latinx parents and caregivers called La Fuerza de Creer. We use the series in community-based workshops to celebrate the strengths of Spanish-speaking parents and inspire action to promote healthy development among young children.
